"moonrise on the bay" Polymer Clay, NFS

Artists Statement   

    Shallow Bay, where I walk, skate and mountain-gaze gives me endless inspiration.  When I need a break from my studio I go to this place to breathe some fresh air, watch the ducks dabbling or feel the bite of winter on my cheeks. 

    This is not a painting.  I create my images out of polymer clay by layering different blends of colour or superimposing one colour on another.  I may then add texture, natural objects (rocks, wood, or placer gold) or millefiori canes.  These I also create with polymer clay.  When I am finished with my image, I bake it on a ceramic tile, fix it to wood or matte-board and frame it.
